For a strip mall restaurant this place is amazing. My son had the pork steak special. He never used his knife. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich. Both had the baked beans and cole slaw. She was saying she wished she could make them at home. I had the smoked turkey salad. The smoke flavor in the turkey was just right. This is definitely worth coming back too

Good BBQ. Okay service. Baked beans were horrible, but the BBQ was so good I'll be back.

The first time we went the food was excellent. Meat fell off the bones, and all tasted good. Could hardly wait to go back. Second trip not so much. Ribs were tough, seemed over cooked and almost burned. Had to gnaw on them to get any meat off. When someone came to ask how the meal was, we told him. He went to check on it, we never saw him again. Waitress was very good, worked hard. We won't be back.

I could just scream. Really! I have been there, at least, a dozen times or more because they (were) so convenient. First, there are only five reviews here because they have relocated to a new location a few blocks east of West County Mall. Their previous location was a tad difficult to get to at the southwest corner of Manchester and I-270. Restarting this "review" database after several years of input from customers is irresponsible of Yelp, I think. It is the same operation. I have given up on anything but the baby back ribs, which run between good to excellent. I have tried the brisket, BBQ beef and pork, burnt ends, etc. All have been disappointing...usually dry...crumbly...grainy...very little "pink"...tasteless...buried in BBQ sauce, if it is a "wet" side...sometimes, small portions. Green beans - overcooked. Corn on the cob - tough and mushy. Cole slaw - boring. Baked beans - usually under cooked...no meat...boring. Their pies are anything but homemade, as they advertise. Canned whipped cream. Factory made crust. Filling that has to have come out of a can. ASSEMBLING a pie, with marginal pieces and parts made elsewhere, is not homemade! They seem to be staying afloat by $3 margaritas nights, $.50 beers on Wednesdays, emails promos, and so on. What I can not understand is WHY...WHY, oh, WHY, can not they see that their quality is so frigging mediocre? I keep going back because when I get an BBQ urge and they are convenient and $.50 is attractive, but it is clear that the cooks and management are just plain LAZY !!!

Had the lunch Pork plate w 2 side. Pork was tender without a bunch of fat. Less than 8 bucks. Good value. I'm going back for the pork steak next.

rib city rules! we get catering to go all the time , and the manager - jesse is professional, fast and cares about her customers. the ribs fall off the bone and my wife , who always gets grossed out by fat, loves the ribs. they are tender and flavorful with little to no fat on them . all meat. they make their pies - in house, instead of buying them pre made, they also smoke their own meats . who wants to go out to eat , just to have someone nuke your frozen dinner or thaw out a boxed pie ?( applebees) . top notch service and food.

The bartender is awful. First time I ordered to go I sat at the bar and waited 20 minutes for my food. She never acknowledged me to offer a water, at least, while I waited 30 minutes for my mediocre BBQ. I never wanted to go back but my brother and I decided to try it out and same bartender was working. The place was empty and the bartender said they closed at 8pm, it was 7:58. She said we had two minutes. Their door clearly stated 9pm. My brother commented about it and she said no we definitely close at 8pm it's on the door. We left to never go back again. And I suggest no one else does for as long as she is working, plus like I stated before the food is mediocre at best.

I just tried Rib City for the 1st time. I wanted to like it. I had the chicken and pulled pork combo platter. Pork was excellent, but the chicken was very dry. I also was not impressed with any of their sauces. Not sure that I will try them again.

This was our first time trying Rib City. The place is in. Strip mall so it's easy to miss . We were sat right away and I he an Extra cold blue moon in under 3 minutes! The food came out super quick and piping hot! They seem to be down at least a person or 2, I only saw one server running around and the bartender was helping him with his tables. Neither ever looked stressed. We will defiantly come here again! Great job!

My husband will eat ribs, but they aren't his meal of choice. I don't eat ribs at all. Actually, I don't eat any meat or fish that is served with the bone(s). I don't like to be reminded that my food was once a living animal. If I'm ever stuck in the wilderness, the only way I'll survive is if I can manage to figure out which plants are nonpoisonous. I certainly won't be killing or catching my own food; I'm too squeamish. So, if I'm ever left to fend for myself, I'm pretty much effed. When lunch rolled around last weekend, the husband and I decided we would go to a place named after something we don't eat. Maybe a sushi place? Naaahh. Rib City, it was. SERVICE We were seated immediately upon arrival. Despite having a fairly large restaurant with plenty of booths and tables, they seemed to be seating everyone in the same section. I thought that was odd. Service was fine, though. When our waitress first arrived at our table, she brought extra napkins, some moist towelettes, and an empty basket lined with paper. We were curious about the purpose of this mystery basket, but we soon learned it was for trash. That probably is extraordinarily useful if you order something messy like, you know, ribs. However, it still came in handy for us. You know you're at a fancy restaurant when you have your own trash receptacle at the table. ;) ATMOSPHERE As a native Texan, I felt at home here. The restaurant had a nice smoky aroma. The walls were decorated with stars and country kitsch. Country music was playing. I'm not really into any of that, but it reminded me of my homeland. :) MENU Rib City is a chain, and they, of course, have more than ribs. Their menu includes pulled pork, BBQ pork, BBQ beef, smoked turkey, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, shrimp, hot dogs, burgers, and salads. At a place like this, I normally would order a sandwich or just some BBQ with a side or two. However, I found the sides to be boring here: corn, applesauce, fries, baked beans, coleslaw, sliced tomatoes, garlic bread, and a baked potato (after 4 PM). No macaroni? No cornbread? Collard greens? Not even potato salad? That's kind of weird. FOOD The husband ordered a burger and fries. I tasted the fries. They weren't crispy enough for me. I chose the smoked turkey salad, which contained the following: -A good portion of thinly sliced and chopped turkey -A salad blend of lettuce, red cabbage, and carrot -A cherry tomato -A slice or two each of onion, green bell pepper, and cucumber I requested light Italian dressing on the side. The waitress asked if I wanted croutons or garlic toast. I went with garlic toast only. My salad was okay. I did not care for the Italian dressing, and I ended up using BBQ sauce on my smoked turkey. Four BBQ sauces were available. Tangy, sweet, and mustard were on the table. Hot was available by request. I used hot and sweet. Not bad. I'm not sure why the hot BBQ sauce couldn't hang out on the table with its friends. I guess it wasn't cool enough. Haha, see what I did there? ;) (Sorry.) The garlic toast was pretty good. It appeared to be a piece of regular white bread, saturated in butter and garlic (duh), and then lightly toasted. It was served in two halves, diagonally cut. RATING I'm giving Rib City three stars. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I enjoyed the smoked turkey and garlic toast. I just wish they had some more exciting sides. Sliced tomatoes? Seriously? I love tomatoes, but they ain't no side, pardner.

I would like to have tried the food at this restaurant, as I was on business and needed some good ribs. Sadly, the wait staff appeared to have some sort of affliction that prevented them from taking my order. My business associate and I sat in the middle of other individuals eating their meals, and seeing several wait staff pass by our table, never inquiring if our order had been taken. Order after order came out of the kitchen, and still nothing. After 10 minutes of getting the cold shoulder, we decided that rude behavior wasn't worth the food, regardless of how good it might have been. As we left, the host who seated us looked up, then continued his phone call. That basically sealed it for me--my business wasn't worth Rib City's time or effort. Rib City--you really need to educate your folks on simple customer service. As a customer service professional myself, I would have been fired for engaging in such behavior with my clientele. This is not an issue of cost versus service, either. There are many establishments that combine both without a second thought. I will definitely be steering both my customers and colleagues from this place!

It's pork lover's heaven. I love their ribs that fall off the bone and into your mouth. They're wonderful. They also have the best pork steak ever and it's huge. You get a lot of meat for the price of the pork steak. I like their sweet potato fries, too. The chicken is only ok. Its nothing special. If you go, go for the pork, and you won't be disappointed. Their pies are good most of the time, too.

Nice enough and prompt service. My daughter had the pulled the pork and said it was better than many BBQ places in and around STL. I had the special-ribs. Short ribs didn't have a lot of meat for the price, but tender and tasty and falls off the bone. Limited sauce choices, but I mixed a sweet with the spicy and it came out ok.
